Your tasks include:

• Concerning the area of “small molecules”: Presentation of our systems solutions in the    area of analysis of chemical synthesis products, pesticides, drugs or metabolic products for our international customers. In this case the focus is the analysis using HPLC-MS, capillary zone electrophoresis-mass spectrometry or GC-MS.

• Concerning the area of protein analysis/proteomics: Presentation of our systems solutions in the area of proteomic analysis for our customers with focus on LC-MS/MS-analysis using 1D- and 2D-nanoLC-ESI on ion trap and (Q-)TOF-mass spectrometers.

• Processing of samples from our customers.

• Providing customer trainings as well as presentation of the according results in front of the customers and at scientific conferences.

You meet the following qualifications:

• Completed study as chemist, food chemist, pharmacologist, biologist or biochemist, with Ph.D. would be ideally.

• For the area “small molecules”: Practical experience in pharmacology, metabolite analysis, structure determination using MS/MS or quantification. Sound knowledge in liquid or gaschromatographic separations.

• For the area of protein analysis/proteomics: Experience in purification and isolation of proteins, LC-MS(/MS) as well as basic knowledge in the area of posttranslational modification of proteins and/or protein quantification by mass spectrometry would be beneficial. Furthermore you should be able to work with biological databases (ExPasy, NCBI, EMBL) and programs for analysis of sequences in the biological sector (BLAST, MS-BLAST, de-novo-sequencing).

• A good knowledge in MS-Office, knowledge in VBA would be beneficial.

• Excellent ability to communicate and willingness to closely interact with our customers.

• Fluent in spoken and written English, maybe also in another language.

• The activity comprises also travelling (~25%).
