Versatile hand-held Chemical Agent Detector
The RAID-1 is a highly versatile system. It can be operated as hand-held or stationary detector for air monitoring purposes. Additionally, it is applicable as point detector when equipped with a hand-held probe.
Special features
- All relevant CWAs can be detected due to automatic polarity switching
- Sophisticated software prevents false alarm due to interfering substances found in battlefields and takes into account the possible destruction of agents
- Library data is changeable by downloading new data sets with the help of a special PC program
- RAID-1 allows training under battlefield conditions as the instrument is programmed to respond to non-toxic simulants
Applications
The RAID-1 is used as hand held or vehicle mounted system. Several hundred units are in service with the German and the Swedish Civil Defence organisations. Users with military background like Czech Republic or Denmark are key references. The vehicle mounted version is one core component of the German Civilian Reconnaissance Vehicle ABCErKw (ABC Erkundungskraftwagen).
