Abstract

A limited number (10⁴) of human cells were analysed for the identification of as many proteins as possibly by mass spectrometry following two different approaches. Using this minute sample amount on the HCTultra ion trap, we identified 292 proteins from a fast 1D-LC/MS/MS run, while a 2D-LC/MS/MS run resulted in the unambiguous identification of
635 proteins. The same sample was used in the annual workshop, “Micro Methods in Protein Chemistry“, in Martinsried, Germany.
