Abstract |

A nanoscale FeIII-substituted polyoxotungstate molecule {Fe12W60}30- is synthesized starting from trilacunary {P2W15} 10 Dawson cluster and iron-acrylate complex [Fe3(μ-O)(CH2=CHCOO)6(H2O)3]Cl·7H2O to give a 2.6 nm tetrahedral cluster species that forms a framework in the solid state, and the 16 kD cluster can be directly observed in solution as revealed by solution mass spec. studies. |
