Abstract

• NALDI-MS uses a novel matrix-free approach to effectively reduce background interference in low mass range to allow for unambiguous detection and confident MW determination of small molecules. NALDI-MS still retains favorable properties of MALDI-MS, including ease of use, small sample consumption, high sensitivity and rapid analysis.
  
  
• Based on preliminary results, NALDI-MS platform appears to have potential to become a unique approach to increase throughput to streamline MS-based analysis and facilitate rapid screening of pharmaceutical compounds under discovery and development.
