GC/APCI Ion Source
The GC/APCI ion source allows an LC or a GC to be coupled with any Bruker ESI-TOF-MS (micrOTOF II, micrOTOF-Q II or maXis). The performance of the MS is not dependent on the separation technique. As a result, this innovative source introduces the high performance of a really high-resolution TOF-MS into the GC world; in terms of mass accuracy and mass resolution (or even ultra-high resolution in case of maXis).
The system has the capability to be easily switched from GC to LC and vice versa within minutes. It consists of a heated transfer line for GC coupling, a spray chamber and an APCI heater. APCI is a widely used method for ionizing small, non-polar molecules and is therefore an excellent ionisation method for GC/MS experiments.
