CAD Design Manager

The ideal candidate will have direct responsibility for all Mechanical Design related activities including, technical documentation, change control, and product development. This includes maintenance and control of the Bill of Resources (BOR), and developing a system for naming and retrieval of parts, assemblies, and documentation within the ERP system. Interfaces and provides CAD support for Engineering and R and D functions, including product development, continuous improvement of product reliability and robustness, manufacturing support, and incoming inspection on mechanical parts. This is a hands on position, with responsibility for managing employees within the department to include interviewing, hiring, training and developing, planning, assigning, and appraising staff; addressing and resolving conflict, and maintaining productivity. Minimum requirements include BS degree or higher in ME or equivalent experience. Seven to ten years experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in complex analytical instrumentation utilizing vacuum components and ion optics assemblies. Experience with manufacturing processes, change control, design review and release, and Enterprise Resource planning System (ERP).
Must have full competency in CAD using Solid Edge or similar 3D design tools. Familiar with Microsoft Office, server technology, data storage and backup. Fluent in English with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Highly organized and creative.
