The microflex™ is designed as an affordable, yet powerful benchtop system that is convenient for many life-science laboratories.

No-compromise performance on the bench
The microflex takes advantage of Bruker Daltonics’ long standing expertise in providing the highest performance mass spectrometers. The unique design of the microScout ion source and the gridless reflectron give the microflex superior resolution, as well as excellent mass accuracy and outstanding sensitivity.

Advanced design
The modular design offers several instrument configurations to fulfill different requirements for peptide/protein identification and characterization, biomarker discovery or oligonucleotide analysis. Should your requirements grow or change over the years, the system can be upgraded to meet new analytical challenges.

Intuitive instrument control
The microflex features our integrated Compass software environment for easy operation in multi-instrument laboratories. All functions from automated acquisition to in-depth analysis via highly sophisticated bioinformatics software are provided.

Unique AnchorChip technology
The powerful proprietary AnchorChip technology provides homogeneous, exactly-positioned samples on the MALDI target for robust and rapid automated data collection, as well as a sensitivity boost by up to two orders of magnitude.

Compatibility and automation
Compatibility with laboratory robots (e.g. map II) is assured by the new microScout MALDI target plates, featuring 96 position geometry to sample from industry standard microtiter plates.

Applications

Expression Proteomics
The microflex identifies proteins by MALDI-TOF MS peptide mapping. The excellent data quality directly translates into high success and reliability of identification. Thus even faint spots from 2D gels can be identified. Optional MS/MS (autoPSD) capability enables detailed structural investigation of proteins, including crosslinks and modifications. Alternatively the MALDI-TOF MS screening step can be followed by high-content ion trap LC-MS/MS within the PROTEINEER workflow.

Functional Genomics
As part of the GENOLINK package, the microflex is the ideal tool for routine analysis of oligonucleotides for genotyping projects and quality control of oligonucleotide synthesis.

Biomarker analysis
As part of the CLINPROT solution, the microflex supports the discovery of biomarker patterns and the identification of individual biomarkers in clinical proteomics applications. Superior system performance enables detection of biomarkers throughout the typical mass range for peptides and proteins.
