To address regulatory concerns, Agilent Technologies was required to divest certain product lines for its acquisition of Varian to be approved. Accordingly, Agilent and Bruker Corporation have signed a definitive agreement for Bruker to acquire Varian's:
- Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) instruments business
- Laboratory gas chromatography (Lab GC) instruments business
- Quadrupole gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS and GC/MS/MS) instruments business
Formal acquisition of these three Varian product lines has occurred, and they will form the core offerings in a newly established Bruker Daltonics business; Chemical Analysis. To ensure continuity, this division will be staffed with many of the same Varian employees you currently interact with.
Bruker is looking forward to working with you in the near future and is committed to support customers who have purchased these ‘divested’ products from Varian. Bruker will honor all existing Varian commitments with regard to support and parts availability, and will continue to invest in the future development of each of the acquired product lines.
