RAID-S2
The improved Mounted Trace Gas Detector for Long Term Operation
The RAID-S2 is a gas trace detector for the detection of chemical warfare agents (CWA’s) and toxic industrial chemicals (TIC’s). It is based on proven Ion Mobility Spectrometry technology. The RAID-S2 is specifically designed for long-term operations in a 24/7 environment
with preventive maintenance required only once a year. It is ruggedized for military and civil defence environments.
Special features
- High interference rejection
- Radioactive source (Ni-63) with a considerable lower activity of 100 MBq
- Next generation of NC Monitoring software
- Ethernet interface
- Ruggedized design
- Maintenance at operator level
- Easy exchangeable filters
- Heated gas inlet for improved measuring performance
- State-of-the-art quick connecting tubes
Applications
Due to automatic polarity switching, the RAID-S2 continuously detects and identifies all relevant chemical warfare agents. The built-in microprocessor evaluates the recorded ion mobility spectra. The identified agents and calculated concentrations are shown on the display. Sophisticated detection algorithms and the new ammonia based dopant significantly reduce false alarms. The device can be operated in two different modes for the detection of CWA’s or TIC’s. In both modes protection against overloading is provided. All applications can be used under field Long term monitoring of ambient air for the presence of hazardous compounds in buildings, shelters or warehouses.
- Integration into naval and military monitoring applications
- Detection of CWA’s onboard of vehicles, ships or airplanes while underway
- Installation on board vehicles for CWA detection
- Upgrade of existing RAID-S systems In naval or shelter applications it serves as a monitor for:
- the ambient outside air
- the air filtered by the NBC protection filters (break-through surveillance)
